About The Artwork

This work was inspired by disturbed dreams of an artist: irresolved issues, family dramas and even revenge desire - everything is to be resolved on the copper plate by means of drypoint. Engraving, cutting becomes not just an outbirst tool but something more: realisation of an ideal world where you say everything and find a way for your shadow, your "bad guy" inside. A world where everything is TO BE clear. After printing the signs on "tiepolo" paper with application of yellow "chinese" paper become unique among the other prints, and convex, sculptural, tactile giving an idea of 3 dimensions.

Russian painter and engraver based in Naples, Italy. Born and raised in Syktyvkar, which is a capital of the Republic of Komi, Russia. Moved to Naples 3.5 years ago to Naples in order to study painting and graphics in the Academy of Fine Arts. My artistic research is strongly bounded with the other professional areas that I studied: linquistics and psycology. Namely, in my works I try to decompose the language taking already catalogyzed phenomena out of its regular context, breaking, destroying its shape, and putting it in a new environment. Have you ever tried to abolish, to mute your internal voice at least for a minute? Language is like a terminal virus, it doesn't permit us to get rid of it even if you are on your own and there is no need to talk. Mostly it brings us further from reality, because any linguistically unidentified phenomena seems to have no life at all. If you repeat the same word thousand times it loses its own meaning and becomes just a ridiculous sound. William Burroughs believed that language was a virus from outer space: it makes us operate just with the meanings included in the program, leaving no room for undecifrated unverse. In a moment of Discovery instead of looking for possible interpretations one should rather let himself go with the flow of intuitive sensations and insights, with no space and no time, always welcoming possible CHANGE.
