This is a print of her art, originally on porcelain slab, from her Chinese residency in the world renowned Taoxichuan Art Centre, in Jingdezhen, China, famous for the porcelain being made there for more than 1,000 years. Svetlana K-Liée was born in 1977 in Moscow where she graduated with a MA from the faculty of applied arts completed by additional studies at the famous I.I. Nevinsky Etching Art Studio and Babushkinski Ceramic Studio. Svetlana has been residing in England since 2006. She became a member of the Union of Artists in 2001, initially in the Prints Department, with subsequent transition to the Sculpture Department. Proficient in various techniques, including bronze, ceramics, etching, and paper in graphic art, printmaking, collage, and photography, she earned a second MA in drawing in 2007, placing among the top 36 students at the University of the Arts London. Svetlana's artwork has achieved international recognition, with sales and exhibitions in renowned venues such as the Hermitage and Saatchi Galleries. She received the title of Best Female Artist in 2004 and Best Young Sculptor in 2005. In 2010, she secured the Best Sculpture prize at the Battle Contemporary Fine Art Fair and the 3rd RK Harrison Prizes for Art Photography at the National Open Art Competition. Notably, one of her sculptures was featured in the Broomhill National Sculpture Prize 2011 Top Ten Sculpture of the Year. Additionally, two of her etchings were selected by the Hermitage Museum. Svetlana has been developing her art through multiple art residencies in Taoxichuan Art Centre, Jingdezhen, China in the past year, developing more porcelain artworks, alongside her work from the past years at the Imperial Porcelain Factory, Saint Petersburg, Russia. Most recently, her works were exhibited at SCOPE MIAMI BEACH and Art Basel 2022.
