My paintings, I find, always seem to tell some sort of hidden story. In this case, I wanted to paint a flower that is already openly blooming, like having overcome some obstacle and expanding, expressing a desire to cover the canvas with its petals and color.
A viewer (friend) told me that each petal seems to be telling a story. A story where colors speak.
I do not like to paint my flowers in "normal" colors. I want them to have a personality of their own, a story of their own.
Oil is much better than chalk or gouache, since I can use layers, and mis colors as softly as I wish.
I do not choose a style, it sort of chooses itself as i paint.
