ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Zebra was inspired by a Safari trip to Kenya. I was drawn to the strong lines of its patterns. I hope this makes the viewer feel the freedom of the Serengeti. The strong lines lend themselves to printmaking. Colour Brown The print was designed, cut and hand pulled personally by the Chris Cook the artist, using professional art materials. It was then signed and numbered in the traditional manner. Normally it is possible to add a free personal message from the artist if required please let him know. Chris began artistic life at Brighton College of Art – now part of Brighton University. He majored in photography and has been a professional photographer, artist and teacher for over 40 years. He went on to study lighting under the great exponent of lighting Walter Nurnberg O.B.E. Chris also works as an expert guide at Bloomsbury group art houses of Charleston Farmhouse and Virginia Woolfs Monks House National Trust in Sussex England. Chris shares his time between Southern England and Southern Italy where he has homes. The light in Italy is so beautiful and extends the season and warmth. Chris competed and was featured in the televised Landscape Artist of the Year UK in 2020. Chris is also Chairperson of Newhaven Art Club.
