The Ezeagu Atilogwu earned its first ever dancing contract in 1960 from the playwright and Nobel laureate Professor Wole Soyinka, for the stage production of his play – Dance of the Forests. It became so popular in Lagos that it gained the patronage of the Nigerian public, government, and foreign embassies.
