The title refers to everyone's unique angle on any given situation, plus, the unceasing motion of life makes it theoretically impossible to give a beginning and ending to a particular situation. An artificial start and end time can be given though. The significance of such a simple fact is where my inspiration lies. If the thinking mind is now placed in this larger context of constant flux we can see the rigidity of memory. I see clumps of memories as objects which are removed from the majesty of present motion. When memories are empowered by belief the foundation for conflict with the present flow is put in place.

The piece is made from red cedar, glued-up from three pieces cut from the same board for grain matching. The diagonal glue lines give a dynamic tension to the piece.

The story takes marvelous twists,
What an exciting journey through this purposeful quest!

I listen with open ears to the magical events
Which take place in orderly sequence.

A story badly told is not worthy of ears
So make it good, make it clear, make it bold.

A fuzzy end is no end at all.
You've caught my interest so lead me to the treasure.

Overlaying the unceasing motion: the heartbeat, the breath,
This story of me continues to unfold.

Always 2, 3, 4, steps behind, I stumble to grasp
At the everchanging world.

Sitting still, with eyes closed, I wonder if I am finally at rest.
Nay, the motion does not stop for one or any.

I fall into presence, the storybook is closed.
What is left? What has gone?

The field of action is where I now play.
The book has been discarded in the puddle.
