About The Artwork
Eight different poses of acrobats climb up both sides of a 8’ high wooden fractal design (the fractal design’s technical scientific name is a Julia Set). Fractals are forms from Nature (such as are in clouds and sea shore formations) which repeat in mathematically determined sequences. Carving the complicated repeating fractal forms from 2” thick plywood was quite a technical challenge! The acrobats bring to mind human striving to accomplish and succeed.
