About The Artwork

This design came about as a reflection on global war events. Postmodern graphic sensibility helps to convey the message, like social posters do. With crisis comes a choice: to be blinded and silenced by Fear or to find the courage to see and speak one's truth. To ACT out of love, rather than hate, fills our mouths with flowers. Vase can be filled with water up to 3”, that is more than enough to feed the flower. Cut-out design offers new possibilities for floral arrangements. This ceramic object can act as a vase for a single flower or a bouquet, while it is sculptural and articulated to be object d’art in and of itself.

Evgeniya Plotnikova of EVG.WORKS is a ceramic artist and a practicing architect. Born and raised in Siberia, she has lived in Chicago, New York and currently resides in Seattle. Her journey in ceramics started in a Brooklyn clay studio with the interest of releasing a creative energy and exploring a fascination with the material. The interest grew into passion that led to setting up a home studio to play and clay. Designs are developed by experimenting with hand building techniques and have a contemporary design sensibility. EVG.WORKS designs are functional Art. Most of them are vessels that hold a water, others hold a space. They act as a vase for a single flower or a bouquet, creating new possibilities for floral arrangements, while they are sculptural and articulated to be object d’art in and of themselves. They are full of vitality, and if you were to listen to them carefully, they might tell you some of their secrets.
