About The Artwork

The sculpture "African Warrior" is the result of a research about the tribes that inhabit the valley of the Omo River in Ethiopia. Their colorful and ill-finished clothes as well as the use of pigments in their bodies elicited ideas of how to elaborate a rustic and elegant sculpture at the same time, without losing the richness of the details. The pieces of recycled iron, cut in varied shapes and with differents textures, gave to the figure of the warrior a typical clothe of his people, worn on days of fights.
