About The Artwork

This Bison/ buffalo bull sculpture is handmade from baling wire. This majestic roaming herd animal played an important role in our American History. They are a perfect subject to be preserved in an art piece. **Please note: Take a look at the last photos I have posted for this artwork. My husband Gregg Gibson, also on Saatchi, is a photographer and can do some amazing manipulation techniques. He can morph the photos of my art into incredibly intriguing photo art. Check out his works on Saatchi to buy prints! Being a nomadic herd animal it has been an icon of Western frontier life. The native Americans had great respect for the buffalo, and some believed in a deity with the head of a buffalo called Tatanka. The word was also used as the word for buffalo in many Sioux native American societies. In the mid 1800's the United States Government attempted to wipe out the buffalo, not because they wanted to be rid of buffalo, but because they wanted to wipe out the Indians. The American buffalo once numbered over 65 million strong across almost the entire continent of North America. By the end of the 1800's their numbers were reduced to a few hundred.

My Thoughts Artwork is a reflection of your soul with an inner drive for creativity you are born with. A lifetime of personal unique encounters and education feed those ideas. Creating art allows us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time. A process in which to create, enjoy, experiment, and relax. ART REPRESENTS THE MYSTERY AND INWARD SIGNIFICANCE OF THE HUMAN MIND.
