Animal Versus Intellect has always been a struggle in me. I have animal instincts telling me to do one thing, but human understanding and feelings telling me to do something else. I have a lion roaring out of the man's stomach, while he struggles to show dominance and intelligence by fighting back w...

For over sixty years I have been drawing the human figure and continually find it challenging. Drawing from a live model is the primary method I use. Sometimes in as little as thirty seconds I try to capture the illusive movement of dance, a gesture of emotion, or a sensual moment. I also love sculpture, drawing and photography, and have made my living at it for 40 years. I will be 79 years old in January of 2025, and I have no signs of slowing down! - I am mostly retired now, but still drawing and selling my art. I made a living from selling my stone sculptures and making bronze portrait busts. I created Fine Art Sculptures in Stone and Bronze, but mostly sold my commercial sculptures in stone, consisting of animals, faces and portraits. - I have enjoyed teaching Drawing and Painting to children and adults for many years. - Some of my sculptures and portraits are owned by Ted Turner, Robert Redford, Beau Bridges, Sylvester Stallone and LA Mayer Tom Bradley. - Oprah Winfrey asked my permission to show two of my small bronze portraits of Gandhi and Martin Luther King that were sitting on Ted Turner's desk, while filming her Master Class TV Series. - I have made many sculptures and life-size bronze portraits of important people and donors for institutions like: The City of Santa Rosa, CA - The City of Rohnert Park, CA - The City of Sebastopol, CA - The City of Cotati, CA - Sonoma State University, CA., and KQED Public Television, PBS, San Francisco, CA. - Huell Howser's TV program "California's Gold" included me carving a large face in stone at Art City, in Ventura, California. - Walter Johnson, a man in Santa Rosa CA, had me create large ink-line portraits, along with stone portraits, in sandstone, of all the famous cowboys, Indians and outlaws, plus Presidents like John F Kennedy and Abe Lincoln. This took me over five years. He then built a museum to put them in, on display, in northern California.
