About The Artwork

If no one asks me, I know what it is. If I wish to explain it to him who asks, I do not know.” Saint Augustine’s words when he was asked about time, best reflects my own when asked about the meaning of my art. I will try to improvise. The most obvious answer being that it’s the reflection of our surroundings; however; then the question becomes: How can my work survive in a technologically visual ecosystem? My answer to this is by first turning the point of view 180 degrees. Secondly, through the use of antique, recyclable and organic materials. Finally, by assembling them in a futuristic, but aesthetically vintage way. The use of crustaceans, bones, wood, cloth and parts of old machines allowed me to complete this series. Maybe I could invent a more extensive explanation about my way of creating; although “the only thing I truly know, is that I do not know.”

In addition to these activities, between the years of 2008 and 2010, he taught the basics of mural painting in Cordoba Prison through the non-profit organization, CIC Bata.
