About The Artwork
BirdMother This piece embodies motherhood and it's abnegation, leaving women a shell of their former selves. Her stone cold beauty lacks emotion and all the focus is not on her but the colorful nest within her cracked crown, similar to a mother's focus on her children rather than their own well-being. The fissures represent the stress and strain that mothers endure for their children. Some are obvious but other cracks are barely discernible to the outside world. This is a serial piece. Signed and numbered. Commissioned recreations are welcomed.
