ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The botanical mosaic Blue sage is made using the opus tesselatum technique, which was used by Ancient Greek and Roman craftsmen. I like to combine ancient technique and modern still life. All Modules of natural stone and Italian blue smalt are hand-pricked by me. The mosaic is mounted on a grey mdf board. You have the opportunity to remove it and place it in frame, if you want.

I am a freelance mosaic artist. In the beginning I studied mosaic technique myself and experimented a lot.Then I studied on online and offline courses. I mastered the ancient Roman technique and modern technique, working with glass and volumetric objects. Off all the materials that can be used in mosaic, my favorite is natural stone and marble.Now and for more than ten years I have been making mosaics combining antique techniques and modern subjects. The botanical theme is one of my lovely. Maybe becase I live in a city located in the middle of the multigrass steppe. WildHerbs and flowers are everywhere here. The combination of brutal stone and delicate botanical forms are magical. And What do you think?
