ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This sculpture is carved from Honeycomb Calcite. This is one of my favorite stones to work with. I was able to hand pick this stone at the quarry in Utah. When provided with back lighting this piece seems as if its glowing. I originally started this piece as an abstraction of a bone form, though some angles I see an abstracted human figure. This piece has been polished, sealed, and mounted to a granite base with an aluminum rod.
