Victorian imagery and digital manipulation can ignite the imagination. What once was, becomes something quite different. The title of this assemblage "Carpe Diem," or “seize the day,” suggests the possibility of finding joy in life, regardless of its challenges, which is something more common during the Victorian period than may have been realized Incorporating found objects into art promotes sustainability by repurposing materials that would most likely end up as waste.

I’m a native Californian raised in Studio City, where imagination is an industry. I have been involved in art all my life, from the Art Center College of Design to my Master's in Fine Craft. Several years after moving to Asheville, I became a juried member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild. My work was a liberal representation of the traditions embedded in Appalachia.
