This reclaimed wood collage sculpture was inspired by George Morrison's many wood mosaic's. For this piece I used mostly reclaimed barn wood and a few scrap wood pieces. Much is left to chance as the laying down of the first few pieces of wood are the starting process but I have no intentions where it will be when finished. All pieces undergo a process of construction and change and is impossible to replicate.

I’m a Twin Cities-based visual artist, primarily self-taught, with a practice centered on tactile, material-driven explorations of form and meaning. Working with acrylic paint and a wide range of drawing media—including pastel, crayon, textile, metal, wood, and canvas—I create intricate wall-based mosaics from reclaimed materials. Scrap wood, canvas, and metal are cut, sanded, and assembled with precision, forming compositions that merge structure with spontaneity. Generous layers of paint and mixed media invite a dense, sensory-rich experience. At the heart of my work is transformation. Each piece begins without predetermined intention, guided instead by intuition and the evolving interplay between material and gesture. The work unfolds through multiple stages of construction and revision, allowing chance and interpretation to shape the final outcome. Unique and impossible to replicate, my pieces celebrate the unpredictability of process—marking time through texture, energy, and metamorphosis.
