For more than two decades Robert has reinvented himself in consecutive bodies of work which have been exhibited extensively in public and private galleries in Western Canada. His most recent work merges painting with his love of sculpture. Using plexiglass, wood, gatorboard, paint and synthetic resin, he employs numerous layers forms, shapes and color to create his sculptural images. Dmytruk's work is influenced by his connection with composer ,lifelong friend and musician Murray J Reid. The melodic tones of three of Murray Reid’s recent musical compositions, ‘1987’, ‘Ode to Mother Earth’, and ‘Ukraine’, have been the catalyst that spawned a body of new work by Dmytruk. Patterns, textures, shapes and audacious color are integrated to complement a kaleidoscope of sculptural compositions visualizing the intricacies of Murray’s symphonic melodies
