About The Artwork

Part of the Ritual & Repetition collection, Circumvolution features seven "pillars" that detail what matters most to me using both universal and personal themes. The pillars are steel, while the spinning cylinders are made up of multiple materials. Each copper cylinder invites the user to ritually spin individually or in unison. Embossed and binary beaded text hints allow the viewer to speculate on the meaning. Clearly, this work is inspired by Tibetan prayer wheels and other rituals that help calm us.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Each of my works is borne of an idea in search of form. Frequent recurring themes in my work include multiples and repetition in both process and form, koan-like text to cue meaning, a carefully crafted symbolic language, audience engagement, and a love for a wide range of materials and processes. The impetus always begins with my experiences. Each work is a document of a reaction using visual form to express personal experience. The works as a whole serve as a changing portrait of the creator. My time is split between urban South Florida and the high desert of Santa Fe, New Mexico. www.stephaniecunningham.com
