Collateral Rubbish Sculpture

I want to increase the general appreciation for things that have no economical value and so challenging consuming in a low barrier way. I also want people to look closer to their natural environment in contrast to their artificial counterpart. I mostly use natural materials. I incorporate these often overlooked things, like rocks or bones, into my sculptures, creating a contrast with the rest of the sculpture and the bright colours I use. This painted, and sometimes sculpted, contrast becomes a spotlight for nature. My sculptures almost resemble cartoon characters, which gives them an approachable feel. I want people to look at my work as being funny, freaky, or slightly disturbing, but not shocking. I like imperfections, they make a sculpture more interesting. Most creatures I have sculpted are not perfect, you can find imperfection in their expression and their asymmetrical shape.
