About The Artwork
Built in clay and finished with black and manganese oxide colouring with tiger's eye glace to pick out his eyes. This fellow will capture your gaze every time you see him, his expression from one side is wistful, possibly hopeful and from the other is pensive. I wanted to do something that lamented the loss of his homelands but also expressed a quiet perhaps forlorn hope for the future relationship between him and his most dangerous ally. The piece will haunt a little and delight at the same time. One this is for sure, you'll spend more time looking into his eyes than you might imagine. I love him.
