This sculpture is made from concrete. The finish contains iron powder that is acid activated. The oxidation is an on going process. I employ a mold but I allow each piece to distort in a unique manner. This is #3 in this series.

I have been living in Southwest Michigan since 2003 with my wife and two daughters. I am originally from Detroit. I spent a number of years in the Ann Arbor area, earning a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Michigan in Sculpture and Ceramics. Between Ann Arbor and Saint Joseph I lived in Chicago, where I owned and operated a small antique restoration and decorative painting company with my wife. I have been participating in exhibitions throughout the Midwest, locally, at the Krasl Art Center, the Box Factory for the Arts, and the Midwest Museum of American Art in Elkhart. I have also been included in juried exhibitions at the Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum in Saginaw, the Toledo Art Institute, the Muskegon Museum of Art, and the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, where I recently won third prize in the West Michigan Area Artists Show. I have also participated in outdoor sculpture exhibitions at the South Bend Regional Airport, Applewood in Flint, ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, the Box Factory for the Arts, and the Krasl Biennial, among others in Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. Last year I created and installed a sculptural bench for the Michigan Legacy Art Park at Crystal Mountain in Thompsonville, Michigan. I am fortunate, in that the contemplation, creation, and exhibition of sculpture continue to be an integral component of my life.
