Art Description

Sculpture: Mixed Media on Steel, Bronze, Wood and Other.

Currently on display in The Helen Day Art Center's Exposed Outdoor Sculpture Show in Stowe, Vermont. This six foot long rocket was stolen and received national media attention. The rocket was eventually recovered.

Why create a rocket? I’m fascinated by the idea of mechanization. Rockets can be both a symbol of exploration and imagination, but Rockets can also be the delivery vehicle for weaponry and destruction. In the classic sense they are both creator and destroyer. In my artwork rockets represent the cost of progress and the promise of the future.
