Día de los Muertos art doll Dolores Sculpture

This beautifully scary art doll is called Dolores. She is a unique one-of-a-kind handmade doll. She belongs to my Dark Beauty series, No. 08. My dolls are numbered and signed as I make them (on one side of the stand) and each one brings its certificate of authenticity. My Dark Beauty dolls are inspired by the dark art of the Mexican sugar skulls of the Day of The Dead. Dolores represents the traditional Mexican Catrina. Some practical details about Dolores: - She is a delicate art doll, not a toy and should be treated with care. - Height: 47 cm (18,5 ") - Weight: 500g - The clothes can not be removed. - The doll has its own integrated stand. - The arms are articulated. She is handmade in mixed media: sculpted in clay and fimo, painted and stitched. I make all my dolls from scratch. The doll's skin is finished with cool vintage effect and varnished. I use a lot of ecofriendly and upcycled materials for my dolls. Dolores wears an elaborate dress made with colorful fabrics and decorated with lace, fringes and embroidered ethnic ribbons. The bodice is embroidered with small beads and a heart-shaped rhinestone on the chest and on the back it is tied like a corset. She also wears a beautiful semitransparent embroidered shawl that can be put in different ways. The doll has long red hair (synthetic hair) decorated with flowers and she is wearing an impressive pamela hat. Dolores is the guardian of the Day of the Dead. She takes care of the spirits of the ancestors and makes sure that everyone has a good time. She loves decorating altars with flowers and lighting candles. Take her home and the atmosphere will be filled with a festive atmosphere. Dolores will always remind you that you do not have to fear Death because it can be beautiful as she is.
