About The Artwork
This bowl represents the 3 Dimensional mosaic process in its truest form. There is no armature or substrate underpinning the piece. It is built with polymer clay "millefiori" tiles alone that I pre-prepared.The bowl design was itself inspired by the beautiful and diverse desert landscape in Arizona. It is about 5.5" in diameter and about 4.5" tall

Jim currently lives in Arizona and works exclusively within the polymer clay medium. This particular medium allows him not only to sculpt, but also to "paint"' with the clay. When his creations were dubbed "synthetic offspring" by a collector, Jim became Clay DADDY!! His extraordinary techniques, and use of blended color, are best represented by his "3 dimensional mosaics", however, he also creates mythical creatures and characters and occasionally even caricatures. His work is always one-of-a-kind. Chewy, his loyal (but slightly anxious) miniature poodle is his constant companion and muse.
