Diversity Sculpture

This Artwork is part of the Natural edge series for my Art for Recovery Collection. This series are a mixing of the shapes formed by the trees natural growth patterns over many years and combined with the unique, geometric profiles of the painted ash wood blocks. The writing on the three dimensional Ash wood blocks is all words that have meaning to me and my life recovery from the depths of despair, homelessness, loss and near death. I have chosen the word Diversity for this artwork as the meaning of diversity relates to various aspects of life. Diversity in our learning, our tasks and hobbies can help us to find greater interest in life in general. It is rewarding to accept diversity in other people whether by clothing, visual appearance, race or origin, hobbies or interests, we are all different. This work is made from solid British Oak wood and painted with high quality, Golden acrylic paints. All the wood is sourced from local sustainable, managed forests. The profile detailing is unique and original to my work. The artwork is final coated with a protective varnish that gives long term preservation. The artwork is fitted with a hanging bracket and a matching, easy fit bracket to fix to the wall.
