Sculpture, Metal on Bronze
Size: 110 W x 36 H x 36 D in
Ships in a Crate
The sculpture comprises of 6 giant grass blades made from Cor-ten steel with 2 large and 2 small bronze dragonflies mounted upon them. The blades have sub-frames which can simply be buried, 3 have and optional connecting system if they are to be placed in a pond and they all have fixing points so they can be fixed permanently to a concrete foundation if desired. The dragonflies are cast in bronze with laser cut, finished and polishes wings. All the casting and fabrication work was carried out by the artist in Cheshire with her husband sculptor Barry Callaghan who created the smaller dragonflies. The piece is architectural and suitable for many locations; In a gravel or slated area, amongst grasses and soft planting, in or beside a pond. It creates a bold statement and can be used as a screen. The grass blades represent bold new growth pushing skyward, with the dragonflies for their beauty, living dinosaurs from a bygone era. Dimensions given are the crate size. The height of the largest blade is 2.5 M, the medium blade is 1.7 M and the small blade is 1.2 M not including the sub-frame.

United Kingdom
I am a British sculptor living and working in Cheshire, The United Kingdom. I have just installed a sculptural panel which was commissioned by Aldi for their new store in Poynton. My current work explores man's relationship to the landscape and is inspired by trips to the Pembrokeshire and mediterranean coasts.
