About The Artwork
Inspired by the two Great Horned Owls who live in our garden, these sculptures truly capture the imagination. Each "nest" is woven from natural materials such as maple and mugwort. I source from either fallen trees or invasive species. Included are several lengths of 1/4 inch black nylon twine attached to hanging hardware with simple illustrated hanging instructions. Note: I like to let guests discover these nests on their own; it is a delight to see their eyes big and child-like with wonder when they run over and tell me what they've found! Only if they ask do I tell that I made them myself; I prefer to let imaginations run wild with visions of gorgeous great owls or magical creatures sitting on clutches of golden eggs...
