Sculpture: Wood, Metal, Wax, Found Objects, Taxidermy on Wood, Glass, Other.
When making a sculptural still life such as this I gather together found materials collected over time and begin to create work that has both a message and that satisfies my aesthetic. The work is my response to an Inuit dance mask made from found materials where the artist used their intuition to portray a natural phenomenon. Here I have combined precious metals with found organic materials to express my environmental concerns and as a contemporary take on the Victorian parlour displays.
