ENCHANTMENT Sculpture

Scott and Stephanie are award winning artists that reside in the beautiful Zuni Mountains of New Mexico. Their incredible surroundings inspire them to create all the one of a kind sculptures you find here. Both have an art background, but didn't pursue it full time till 2001. They started out making fine furniture, specializing in hand sculptured rocking chairs, then evolved into the carved sculptures. The sculptures allow them to use their creative talents and bring them much enjoyment. Each sculpture starts out in the log form. To start the carving process, Scott first uses a chainsaw to remove a bulk of the wood and start the design. Then he switches over to various grinders to finish up the sculpture. Scott begins each piece seeing the design in the log that he wants to create, letting the wood speak to him. He carefully carves tunnels, waves, folds and bends, working with the beauty within the piece and bringing it to life. Once he is done with the carving, Stephanie then takes over. Sometimes inlaying stone in the natural cracks and voids for an added pop of color or just leaving all the natural beauty alone. She sands each piece to a very fine grit so it is silky smooth and finally adding several coats of finish. Their "One of a Kind" creations are found at high end galleries, exhibited at museums and juried art shows and grace the homes of collectors all over the world. They take pride in each piece they create and enjoy the fact that once placed in their new home they will be loved and admired for generations.
