Falter 3 - For those who do not like dead animals Collage

Kollasch has been making paper collages since 2008. He began folding in 2014 and, after a period of experimentation, settled on a basic shape: the triangle. By using a wide variety of used and new papers and finding ever new forms of folding, a variety of unique pieces emerges that is based on sustainability and seems to know no end. The paper works are assembled in display cases. This classical presentation conveys a basic order in which the individual foldings combine to form a collection unit. Here Kollasch refers to entomological collections that were created in the 18th century for scientific interest or aesthetic reasons. For Kollasch, however, these are not dead prepared animals, but "Falter - For those who do not like dead animals". The basic form of the Falter is the triangle, which Kollasch shapes through a varying number and variety of folding steps, thus constantly finding new forms. In this way, variants of Falter are created, which can appear dynamic or calm, soft or pointed, open or closed. The respective color, grain and pattern of the material used contributes to further individualization. The serial work, the repetition of similar forms and materials, which are, however, never exactly the same, makes up the very own and fascinating characteristics of Kollasch's Falterwelt.
