Fish Sculpture

Short biography. In school years I did wood engraving. In 1972 I entered the Vladivostok Art College at the Design Department. I studied in the studio of F.G. Zinatulin, and after the service in the army I continued my education with the teacher O.P. Grigoriev. In 1979 I met Vladimir Kosenko, the chief artist of the city of Vladivostok. He had a great influence on my becoming as an artist. In 1981 after graduation from the College, I came to my hometown Kavalerovo and got a job at the Khrustalnenskiy Mining and Processing Factory. I organized an architectural and art group, which made the design of large facilities, such as the dispensary Crystal, the recreation center Zerkalnaya (“Mirror”), the nursery school # 25, the central district library, etc. I worked with architects. The work on souvenirs began in the carpentry shop of the Khrustalny Mining and Processing Factory. The very first work was "The Bird". This composition was connected with the innovative researches, the generalization of the forms and the conventionality of perception. For some reason, this work of art defined the creative path for the whole life. After many years, this work was shown at many exhibitions of different levels. In 1990 I worked at the Countryside House (dacha) of Creativity” named after R.N. Kardovsky on the permission of the Union of Artists of Russia. From 1987 to 1991 and from 2005 to 2017 I worked as a teacher at the School of Arts in Kavalerovo. I dreamed about the construction of the Countryside House of Creativity for the artists working in applied art in Kavalerovo. I received the support from the Department of Culture and the Union of Artists of Vladivostok, but the circumstances changed: “reconstruction (perestroika)”began in Russia... In 1991-2006, together with my brother, we set up a woodworking company, began exhibiting our works of art at the regional exhibitions “Furniture. Woodworking. Design” and won two diplomas for the 2nd place. In 2004, I created a series of souvenirs made of wood with the seaside theme. I received the "Diploma" for this series and free participation in the catalog "100 best goods of Russia". Vladivostok Marine State University named after the admiral G.I. Nevelskoy takes an important place in my biography. I have been working there at a current time as a designer in the museum of the university. The topic of the souvenirs and gifts for presentations became actual for me again.
