I chose to cover this kid skateboard with very soft colors and flowers as a pure expression of children innocence and creativity. Part of my work is to reconquer my inner child... I hope that you will find you inner child too while seeing my art.

France
Sophie Inard is an artist who imagines creations that are both surprising and daring by wrapping sports and competition objects in cotton knits that she crochets. Motorcycle helmets, boxing gloves, tennis rackets or even skateboards, the artist brings softness to all these objects and diverts their use to transform them into unique pieces to contemplate. By associating crochet - an ancestral know-how, long reserved for female domestic work - with performance instruments, Sophie Inard is shaking up traditions. With simplicity, joy and humour, the artist invites us to adopt a more colorful view of life and to take a step back from our daily life, always filled with constraints and urges us to run faster. In a more personal and biographic note: Sophie Inard is 35 yo, she lives in Paris, France. She has always been interested in creating and recreating objects, with textiles mostly. She has been working for 10 years in big companies where competition was very strong between (between brands, between corporate executives...). She needed to express herself and spread a message of peace, and she started to create her pieces in 2020 during Covid lock down and never stopped since.
