Opening the door of the cage and walking away.

This one is all stainless steel, 6 pieces total. The main bird slips into the slot in the base. It's a snug fit but easy to slide out for safe moving. The smaller birds slide in/out of their slots but remain in place when put in correctly. The slots are cut to a close tolerance. Yes it was very tedious and time consuming but I love the challenges. I did not want to weld or bond. I may make more birds from different metals for this work. There are boundless opportunities for art.

The base is 6"x6"x5/8" and has a felt pad on the bottom.

Thanks for looking at art!

I try to create what the eye could never see in real life, but that which could still be real in some ways. To stimulate the viewer’s imagination and pull things forward in the mind, I am a viewer, also. I seek balance. I use color and form to get there. Art is my aeroplane and color lifts my wings. Being an artist is not my primary occupation, but I’ve been producing art since I was a child. I seem to be driven to create - not just art but about everything in my life. There’s a saying that fits me pretty good. It goes like this. Most people, when asked, would say their destination is back home. My destination is forward.
