ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Foxglove was done from a photo of a second year plant growing in my flower garden. I enjoy working in relief, attempting to create a three dimensional world in an essentially two dimensional space. I love the succession of tubular flowers with the curly animated leaves of the foxglove. Bronze as a material adds life to a sculpture. There is a depth of surface not found in other media.

My bronze botanical sculpture combines my love of flowers, plants and tress with my love of three dimensional form and texture. I grew up on a farm in Michigan and have been gardening all my life. I love flowers and enjoy presenting them on a larger scale so viewers can see them close up. When I study plants I am amazed by the complexity of form and repetition of elements.
