VIEW IN MY ROOM
Glacial Divide is from an ongoing "tab series". Tiny pieces of mat board have been cut and fixed onto an undulating substructure - highlighting the folds of the organic surface. Shadows are cast over and between the tabs, providing an extended sense of depth. The minimal textured design entices the viewer, wanting to touch, creating a push pull while experiencing the work. The piece has been framed in a shadow box. The colour may vary depending on viewers computer screen. Deep charcoal grey. Paper, foam, aqua resin, acrylic on board - framed

Erin Vincent (1977) is a Toronto based-artist whose work draws on a variety of repetitive and labour intensive processes and materials. Things have always fascinated Vincent; attracted to the abject and discarded she de-categorizes them and removes established hierarchies. She explores themes of emotional intensity, intuition and the relationship between things. The sculptures she makes possess their own liveliness and ability to engage and be engaged.
