About The Artwork

He used to want to sleep on the roof of our home afterwards-always looking and always aware, never free from Goose Green. The Falklands War did not end in 1982 for those who served. The materials of conflict- lead and steel are used to construct this sculpture.

Her work as an artist and photographer has been awarded many prestigious awards over the past 15 years including an Amnesty International Award presented in Trafalgar Square in London, The Pictor Worldwide Professional Award, London Photographic Award,finalist in The World Photographic Organization Color Award as well as many other international awards and culminating in The Snowdon Award for her artistic achievements presented by Lord Snowdon at the House of Commons in 2010. Julie has worked as a Lecturer in Photography, and has a Fine Art Masters Degree, a First Class Bachelor Degree in Photography, A Post Graduate Certificate in Education, Royal Photographic Society Certification and an British Institution of Professional Photography P.Q.E. As creative Director, Julie mediates in Painting, Printmaking and Photography, Illustration and her work has been exhibited worldwide and can be found regularly published in Fine Art and Photography books and magazines. As well as mediating in the above forms, Julie also exhibits Installations and Sculpture with such acclaimed artists such as Miro,Terry Frost and Antony Penrose. All of the photography and print work is designed to be shown at very large scale, with such recent images taking as long as four months to complete and using as many as 10,000 individually photographed objects to reform into a High resolution Fine Art Fine Art Image, although paradoxically these images appear to enchant equally in a small format taking on a completely different identity.
