About The Artwork
Vertical Totems are Guardians of a series of paintings titled: "Finite Province of Meaning". The association of the Totems as guardians of a separate body of work has mainly to do with using the arena of sculpture to encapsulate and re-define the language of painting. The sculptures are free-standing and independent of the other series yet remain as protectors over a larger body of work. The sculptures are also an investigation into materials as subject.
