The "Helix" shows the uprising form from earth to heaven - from the heavyness up to light. Just like a germ starts growing. The skulpture was first made of clay and then cast into bronze. This sculpture is the first one of nine of a limited edition.

All of nature is daily recreated from the four classical elements. These different forms of energy reveal themselves in individual phenomenons, such as in flowing liquids, in clouds of various forms, in oddly shaped and weathered wood or stone and they can be translated into the language of sculpture. That is why my sculptures talk of the celebratory energy of fire, of gesticulating clouds, of the fluid dynamics of grown wood, of the high elegance and functions of our bones. On a more abstract level, these and other energies operate in history in the ever changing shape of our society. Friedrich Schiller saw the greatest work of art in the idea of a „Free Society“, Dostojewski thought „beauty will save the world“ and Joseph Beuys created the „Soziale Plastik“ I too believe that the understanding of truth will lead us to freedom (Joh.8,32) and that working for our needs (instead for profit) will lead us to brotherhood—if the dignity of each individual is acknowledged by equality in law. This is the reason why I am part of a community in Berlin-Kreuzberg where people are trying to live these ideas in daily practical life with all ups and downs for more than 40 years.
