About The Artwork
Hotrodicus Supersonicus is inspired by the velocity at which our species is consuming natural resources. It is a playful response to our environmental crisis that subtly suggests the form of a mosquito while activating a space. As a suspended sculpture it hovers in the air like a complex thought bubble. Hotrodicus suspends from one hang point so that in a space with airflow it slowly rotates. It is representative of my decade long inquiry into plastic debris as a primary sculpture medium due to its problematic presentation of archival integrity.
