About The Artwork

I had a photo of a waterfall that I was using to create a drawing you can see in my drawing collection. I was playing about with it on the computer and came up with an abstracted series of patterns that I thought would make an interesting bas-relief wall sculpture and took the image and the idea of the shape of falling water into another level of abstraction. The works is made from plaster worked on a base of sealed and cradled plywood. The plaster is then primed and painted and finally covered with a layer of resin. It is a deep, 3-d, bas-relief piece; highly textured and with a glassy sheen. This is quite a heavy piece and is best hung with mirror plates or any method that will support a heavy piece and keep it flush to the wall. If in doubt, seek expert advice.
