Hysterical Bodies explores the topic of a broken female body, an ideal form that is compromised. In this series, the female body is diseased succumbed to its own overt sexuality. It becomes the abject, both enticing and repellant. The circular geometric form of these pieces refers to the perfection of the female body, their glossy finish turning them into objects of desire. But their form is broken, their surface uneven and violent, like a body in the midst of a hysterical attack. Lingerie, used as a material in this work, is the last barrier between the body and the outside.
