About The Artwork

The sculpture made in tribute and admiration for the art of the unparalleled and extraordinary Leonardo da Vinci. The Icarus was carved from oak bogwood, burnt and brushed. The series of Icario sculpture are made of old, certified wood from 5000 BC - 1700 BC- 500 A.D. based on radiocarbon dating. Wings made of steam bent oak wood, covered with cotton fabric, natural leather straps, jute rope and steel elements. Wings width 245 cm / 96.4' Height 115 cm / 45.2' Depth 40 cm / 15.7'
