In the mirror Sculpture

In my series Behind the Mask I explore the multifaceted human nature as reflected in the human face. The mask as a bold symbol of the human desire seeks to convey loneliness, isolation, the alienated human relationships. The masks are symbolic, autobiographical, confessional, and ambiguous; they raise questions and lend themselves to multiple interpretations; they become a medium as well as a tool for art, captivating the gaze through both the contrasts of their luminous and dark sides, and their expressivity. Through my work I am seeking to express emotions, truths, experiences, pain and joy, that are found “behind the everyday mask” that we all wear.
