Stoneware "Resonator" Instrument (@ +/- 400Hz), Hand-built, 21.5" tall x 9.5" diam., cone 10 fired, Robin's Egg glaze with rutile overspray produced a deep nephrite jade green and a semi-iridescent purple-blue color. This piece is one in a series of what I call "Resonators". These hand-built stoneware pieces are unique, one-of-a-kind, and produce a deep rich tone when played or blown into. The act of playing this instrument has a calming and stress reducing effect by requiring deep sustained breaths. Not only is it a fine piece of sculpture to be looked upon and admired, it's also a musical instrument meant to be picked up and played.
