Kohala Sculpture

Inspired by the curves of crashing big waves. Named after Kohala, the oldest of five volcanoes that make up the island of Hawaii. Large wooden panel made from solid ash wood, carved by hand. The woodgrain from the ash is really noticeable because of the shapes of the waves and the used finish. The color could best be described as black/ dark gray/ charcoal and has a glossy surface. The color of the art piece changes depending on the light in the room. It will turn into a dark brown with a yellow/ warm white light and turn gray/ black with bright white light. Secured to the wall with a French Cleat, Weights 31 kilogram (68 lbs)
