ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Walled off to the light, so you could not tell from what hour of the day you drinking. Not that it would matter any way. Dark, so you could not scrutinise the cleanliness. Where the bar fleas were in the carpet, wet and damp from spilt drinks. Where romance could be found in a bottle of Jack, courage, opinions and comfort too. Where problems abate for a while. After years of seeking comfort, you just fall off the stool one day where the other patrons don’t even notice or come to aid you. The bar tender under an insufferable obligation comes to check for vital signs. This might be the day there are none, the day when it was a drink too far?
