About The Artwork
Líneas First is loosely based on the idea of both horizontal and vertical symmetry. It then explores the prowess of something so simple as a line that cuts through that structure. Lines that are thick, thin, tapering, and crossing boundaries. Like most of my work, it involves an interplay between the artificial paint/gold foil, and the softness of a natural timber surface.

The works are lovingly made with fine, sustainably sourced woods, playfully contrasted with layers of resin, metal, paint and glitter. Each piece has a melody of its own. Flitch & Rasp was born in Melbourne and has since migrated to be amongst the trees in the beautiful Blue Mountains of NSW.
