In this medium size sculpture, Karmin decided to use a different shape this time instead of her usual squares and rectangles, it's a star. It's fun and unique. LOST and FOUND #78 is an eye-catching piece of wall art that is ready to be hung. It's a great piece to add to anyone's space who loves bright colors. Karmin hand curls each strip of dyed wood one at a time to create this lively accent modern wood sculpture with tons of twists and curves. There is no white dye for wood so Karmin has to hand dip each wood piece into white paint in order to incorporate white into the sculpture. It is well worth the extra time and effort to add a punch of contrast to the sculpture. This style of contemporary organic artwork has never been done before. It is a one of a kind new style of art that you will never find anyplace else. It is sprayed with a UV protective spray but not recommended to be hung in direct sunlight. Karmin will also work with you to create a custom piece of color, size, and shape.

Karmin Schafer Hansen has been a professional artist since 1995. She lives in New York, USA. She has her BFA in painting from Syracuse University. Recently her direction has changed from painting into creating beautiful, energetic, wood sculptures bursting with color. They are called the “LOST and FOUND” series. They were inspired by watching wood shaving fall to the floor while a wood carver was working on his lathe. Karmin “found” those wood shavings that were “lost” on the floor and made them into something beautiful. From being “lost” to being “found”. Karmin invented this new unique style of art. She hand curls each piece of wood one by one that you see in her sculptures and hand builds her sculptures one spiral at a time. Karmin is always experimenting with new styles and new materials. Karmin’s desire is to continue creating her “LOST and FOUND” sculptures on a bigger scale and one day she hopes to create a huge outdoor “LOST and FOUND” sculpture made of metal.
