About The Artwork

"La identidad perdida" (The lost identity) by Juan García Nativo, 2016 In his works Garcia tries to conserve history of almost perished Andean tribes and pass by sacred culture of his ancestors to future generations. He oppose himself to "meaningless" progress and calls to respect and remember our close bonds with nature. The symbolism is taken from history, tradition and archeological findings of pre-colombian artifacts. Works of Nativo are exhibited in Ecuadorian museums and form a part of private collections in Spain, Bulgary, Canada and United States.
